Jeju society has undergone notable changes in recent years, marked by a rise in single-person households, declining fertility and marriage rates, and the phenomenon of delayed marriage, leading to creation of a new family culture. The dramatic shifts in the social landscape require corresponding adjustments in family policies. However, the development of consistent policies has proven challenging due to a lack of objective data. As a preliminary step to develop policies in addressing the changing family environment, this research conducted a survey of Jeju people. Through this survey, the research identified household characteristics in Jeju and proposed specific directions for future family policies.
