Research

Since 2019, the Jeju Special Self-Governing Province has been actively implementing the Gender Equality Covenant Pilot Project to address the underrepresentation of women in villages. The project aims to transform villages in the province into gender-equal villages by enhancing women's participation in decision-making structures. Based on case studies conducted in 2019 and 2020 on the pilot villages of the gender equality code, this research proposes policy tasks essential for the revitalization of gender-equal villages in Jeju.
