While Jeju women have long been portrayed as a natural and symbolic representation of the region, there have been lack of efforts to generate knowledge to make their status as a historical and cultural entity visible. Pledging to 're-light and brand the lives of Jeju women' and 'improve the status of Jeju women', the 7th popularly elected Jeju Special Self-Governing Provincial Government planned to undertake the task of establishing the Jeju Women's History and Culture Research Center. This report outlines the center's goals, basic direction, major projects, installation model, organizational structure, organizational and personnel operation, and community cooperation system. The center is envisioned as a central hub for the creation and dissemination of knowledge resources and content related to Jeju women's history and culture.
