Research

This research examines the victimization status and backgrounds of underage prostitutes in Jeju through interviews with the affected youth, related organizations, and field experts. The research proposes support measures and policy suggestions including the fostering of peer counselors, establishment and operation of drop-in centers for active identification of victims of underage prostitution, reinforcement of self-support and provision of medical and psychological aid for victims, collaboration among agencies to support victims, implementation of preventive education to enhance awareness among residents of the province, and the initiation of a survey on youth sexual awareness.
