Research
The government's all-day care program has aimed to increase the number of after-school care beneficiaries, eliminating blind spots through collaborative efforts among schools, villages, and related ministries. However, this program has primarily focused on the quantitative expansion of services previously dispersed among various ministries. In response, this research introduces the concept of a 'Care New Deal' as an after-school care strategy at the regional level in Jeju. The strategy seeks to establish connections between after-school care policies and local resources, creating a care ecosystem where all children can grow up healthy. The research conducts an assessment of the current situation with a goal of strengthening the promotion of public after-school care without overlooking any areas, and proposes reinforcement of existing tasks and organization of New Deal tasks.
