In the context of a severe nursing shortage amid the growth of the healthcare industry in Jeju, coupled with recent government's policies and institutional changes related to the nursing workforce, it is essential to examine the working conditions of nursing personnel in Jeju. This research surveyed 858 nursing school students who were about to graduate, hospital nurses, and nursing assistants in Jeju, unveiling their working conditions, challenges, and policy needs. It proposes 12 policy tasks including establishing a legal foundation, encouraging sustained work at hospitals in Jeju, subsidizing night shift workers, and supporting the operation of daycare centers tailored to their work characteristics.
