This research collected basic data by surveying 1,000 adult men and women in Jeju, investigating their drinking behaviors, the reason behind their drinking, and family difficulties arising from alcohol-related issues. It recommends enhancements in drinking culture and family policies aimed at restoring relationships within these affected families. Suggestions include strengthening the promotion of alcohol-related organizations and sobriety campaigns, enacting ordinances for healthier drinking environment, introducing mandatory sobriety education in public institutions and high schools, bolstering support for rebuilding relationship between problem drinkers and their family members, advocating for family leisure activities in collaboration with healthy family support centers, and establishing workplace counseling centers for stress management.
