This research conducted a secondary statistics analysis and a focus group interview with 36 youth individuals, in order to obtain a comprehensive understanding on the youth's perception and experience of work and independence, their process of creating a family, and their work and family life among the male and female youth in Jeju. Based on the results of the survey and research, policy tasks were proposed such as ① providing diverse quality education/training programs, ② operating various employment support programs, ③ providing career-interrupted women with job support, ④ offering measures to ensure safety of female youth around their residence and along the way home from work, ⑤ providing the youth population with housing support, and ⑥ measures to activate gender equality education and campaigns.
