Analysis on the Current Status of Labor by Gender among the Workers Employed by Businesses with Less Than Five Employees in Jeju

By utilizing the original data of the 2022 Regional Employment Survey, this research identified and analyzed the detailed characteristics and conditions of labor among the workers employed by businesses with less than 5 employees in Jeju. Based on such analysis, this research aimed to suggest implications to ensure the basic labor rights of the workers employed by businesses with less than 5 employees. This research made policy recommendations such as preparing an education program for the workers and employers of businesses with less than 5 employees, taking an active measure against the companies that violate the minimum wage rule or delay the wage payment, alleviating the managerial risks and burdens of the employers who run a business with less than 5 employees, creating a 'labor-management support committee for businesses with less than 5 employees’, and establishing an welfare ordinance to protect the businesses with less than 5 employees.
