Research
This study aims to estimate the number of young adults in Jeju with a migration background—those who have personally experienced international migration or have migrant parents—and to explore their overall life experiences. The goal is to identify effective support measures for their settlement and social integration.
To achieve this, the study reviewed previous research and current policy frameworks related to young adults with a migration background, estimated their population size and analyzed their characteristics in the Jeju region. In addition, in-depth individual interviews were conducted with 30 migrant-background young adults in Jeju to explore their experiences in education, employment, social relationships, identity, and their needs for youth-related policies.
