This study examines the economic activity of older adults in Jeju Island, categorized by gender, and proposes gender-specific measures to support their economic activity. To achieve this, we examine government and Jeju Special Self-Governing Province laws and policies supporting older adults' economic activity. Furthermore, we analyze raw data from the Ministry of Health and Welfare's "2023 Survey on the Status of the Elderly" to provide insights into the current and longest-held jobs, future job aspirations, and participation in senior job programs for older adults in Jeju Island, by gender. Additionally, focus group interviews were conducted with 10 experts on elderly economic activity in the Jeju region to investigate the economic activity characteristics of older adults by gender and the challenges faced in recruiting and retaining them. Based on these findings, recommendations include expanding corporate support for older adults, promoting diverse, gender-specific senior employment opportunities in Jeju, expanding vocational training for older adults, and strengthening employment support.
