As the number of children born has decreased due to the low birth rate, the number of children using daycare centers has also decreased from 24,243 in 2017 to 23,908 in 2019, 21,178 in 2021, and 19,533 in 2022, leading to a series of daycare centers closing their doors. As a result, the study conducted a survey of a total of 782 daycare center directors, childcare teachers, and parents of infants and toddlers in Jeju Island, and proposed childcare policy tasks for the next five years (2023-2028) that fit the reality of Jeju.
