Using raw data from Statistics Korea’s “Social Survey,” this study compares trends in climate anxiety and environmental behavior among Jeju residents with national data. While Jeju residents show high levels of climate concern and environmental awareness, their actual environmental behavior remains moderate. Women and middle-aged to older adults were more likely to engage in environmental actions, whereas higher education and climate anxiety did not correlate with behavioral change. Policy implications for Jeju’s climate crisis response include: (1) promoting rational awareness of climate risks, (2) strengthening policies and education for environmental action, (3) enhancing the role of public institutions and leadership in environmental practice, and (4) expanding women’s participation and policy development in climate and environmental fields.
